Jimmy Baratta, Esq. is the Chief Gaming Officer of Holodeck Ventures where he leads the creation and commercialization of content focused on gaming, crypto, esports and the Metaverse. He is also an investor for lifestyle brand XSET, as well as an esports advisor for both U.C. Irvine and Rutgers. He has filled roles in business development, brand strategy and talent/community management for leagues, developers, agencies and more.

Jimmy started his career in gaming through his company FT Empire, where he successfully bridged the gap between gaming and non-gaming culture. Jimmy's first project in gaming was creating the brand: ICEBRKRSCLAN in 2017. ICE created and acquired various micro influencer pages ranging from 10k followers to 1M across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. Jimmy applied the strength of ICE in consulting for developer Wizard Labs where he grew Wizard’s platform to over 250,000 subscribers.

In 2018 Jimmy represented Apple Music's head of content in a series of deals including the massively popular Travis Scott x Fortnite event “Astronomical” as well as with FaZe Clan, culminating in a Series A contribution. He also advised high profile entertainment properties represented by a prestigious Beverly Hills law firm in business development and brand strategy. He signed platinum selling rappers to tournament streaming agreements and participated in the esports projects for numerous others.

In 2019, alongside investors and founders from FaZe Clan, Jimmy co-founded a nonprofit: the NACL. Their esports content is now globally distributed through partnerships with ReachTV, iSunTV and Huomao. The NACL’s partners include Dave Chen of FaZe Clan, David Meltzer of Sports 1 Marketing, Lawrence Chia of Deloitte, and Mark Cuban’s 3 Commas Clothing.

In 2020, Jimmy consulted for creative agency VY Esports to build: UPROXX EDGE in partnership with GameStop and American Eagle. EDGE launched a 5-hour livestream event promoting mental health and featuring Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, GamerDoc, Pro-NFL players, Jess Brohard, USC, UCLA, and more. As director of talent, Jimmy sourced all participants, created a run of show, and produced the event.

Prior to working in esports, Jimmy was a successful civil litigation attorney for over 7 years.
