Duane P. Pierre is an innovator and entrepreneur who has been using geek culture to disrupt education for over 20 years. He is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of World Wide Youth Networks (WWYN), Inc and founder of the and Program Director of the ParaDYM Academy after school program which trains youth in Title 1 schools in college prep and workforce development centered around building equity in the digital arts and sciences. Duane is a community activist, television and radio producer, teacher and Esports Coach for New Britain High School and Central Connecticut State University; his passion for technology and innovation influences his work in empowering youth. Duane is a member of the North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) and the National Association of Esports Coaches and Directors (NAECAD) and has served on various Boards including chairing both the New Britain Arts Commission and the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Minorities in Communications (NAMIC), as well as the New Britain NAACP, the Sheff Movement Coalition and the Glastonbury Chapter of A Better Chance (ABC).
